ToBe Detroit

NBNY was invited by Midtown Detroit, Inc. to facilitate collaborative compositions exploring figurations of Detroit. Using a unique online platform, collaborators interpreted a glossary of writing about Detroit through a collage of moving images, color, and sound. The resulting work was projected onto the 300ft facade of Detroit’s Garfield Lofts during the DLectricity festival on October 5-6, 2012.

NBNY produced these collaborative projects using an innovative new tool, ToBe– a multi-media interface that allows users to collage sound, text, still and moving images, in a canvas that allows drawing, painting and other real-time modifications through a shared palette of shifting content.
