As Director of Operations for NBNY, Tom oversees all logistics, permitting, and crowd management strategy. An active musician and composer, Tom is also the chief curator for music and sound-based projects with NBNY. For three festivals with NBNY, he has commissioned site-specific percussion performances and, for Bring To Light 2011, programmed an impressive roster of musicians that showcased the expanded site’s versatile warehouse spaces and sound-responsive installations. An advocate for creative activation in the public sphere, Tom has worked in community planning with Project for Public Spaces and with the National Trust for Historic Preservation. City advocacy projects have included establishing the Brooklyn Healthy Food Campaign with the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office and connecting New York City food advocates to policy meetings with the UN Commission on Sustainable Development. He is also a founder of the urban intervention collaborative DoTank:Brooklyn.
